Pastor Bio
 
Rev. Sandy Hulse had a career on Wall Street before following a call to ordained ministry. She was a taxable fixed income trader at EF Hutton and was on of two women who fought to make the major investment banker association of Wall Street change its policy to become open to women. Following seminary, Rev. Hulse was ordained by the New Jersey Association, of the Central Atlantic Conference, UCC.

Sandy has served as an interim pastor at First Congregational Church (FCC) UCC, Westfield, N.J.; First Congregational Church, UCC, Albany, N.Y., First Congregational Church, Santa Cruz, CA, First Congregational Church, UCC, Palo Alto, CA and as Pastor at United Church of Tallahassee (FL) UCC.

She received a B.A., Sociology from Muhlenberg College, Allentown, PA; M.A., Counseling, Montclair State University, Montclair, N.J.; M.Div., Drew Theological School, Madison, N.J. and D.Min., University of Creation Spirituality, Oakland, CA.

Her Clinical Pastoral Education was at Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and Payne-Whitney Psychiatric Center, Cornell University Medical Center, both in New York City. She has served as a chaplain at Tallahassee Medical Center and a volunteer chaplain at Morris County (N.J.) Domestic Violence Women’s Shelter.

Sandy is on the Board of Directors of United Church Funds of the UCC and chairs the Corporate Responsibility Committee, which helps develop investment filters for socially responsible investments for the UCC.

Sandy and her partner, Karen Schneider live in San Francisco and enjoy film, theatre, reading and walking San Francisco’s streets.
